| Important information | Please note the participation requirements! The costs indicated cover the management and organisation. Accommodation costs in SAC huts or other accommodation are not included in the price. These will be paid in cash on site. If you travel by public transport, this is at the expense of the participants. Mountain railways and Alpine taxis are not included in the course fee. |

| Content/program | This course teaches the basics for tours in the high mountains: walking in firn and on the apern glacier, crampon technique, use of the pick, roping up on the glacier, anchorages, crevasse rescue, walking on the short rope and route selection on the glacier. |
| Prerequisites for attendance | Ideal for beginners. Enjoyment of mountain hiking, surefootedness even in pathless terrain, very good physical condition for all-day (8 hours) training on the glacier and try-out tour (300-350 meters ascent per hour). |

| Equipment | The material is the responsibility of the participants. Backpack approx. 30l packing volume, snacks for 2 days, water bottle, sunglasses (at least protection factor 3), sun cream, lipstick, sun hat, earplugs, headlamp, silk sleeping bag, blister plaster, small first-aid kit with personal medicines. If available, SAC pass, gloves, hat, windproof breathable clothing, thermal underwear, warm pullover. Climbing harness, 120cm webbing sling, at least 3 screw carabiners, Prusik sling, 4m long rope with 5-6mm diameter, Ropeman if available, ice screws if available, single rope (30-40m long) if available, mountaineering boots and adapted crampons with anti-slip, gaiters if available, ice axe, helmet and cash for accommodation. |
