Organised sport and exercise programme

During this European Congress of Sport Psychology, sport, exercise and physical activity are not only the content of scientific reflexion. Participants will be offered numerous opportunities to engage free of charge in various physical activities. These are directly on the Congress venue or close-by and are led by our sport and physical activity instructors. Pilates, body forming, strength and conditioning will take place on a regular basis and several running sessions will be offered in the neighbouring forest. Swimming in Switzerland's biggest outdoor swimming pool will be offered, provided the weather allows. A football tournament will take place on Wednesday, 15 July. For more information see overview sport programme.

Individual activities on the Congress venue
If you prefer to exercise on your own during the Congress days, a gym is at your disposition at the University centre for your individual workout programme. The neighbouring forest invites you for a walking or running session on slopes of different lengths. Locker rooms are available.
If you need a rest from the scientific programme, you can take an active break by playing Kubb or Pétanque and socialise with other participants.

Aare swimming
Skilled swimmers should not miss the unique experience of swimming in the clear water of the Aare River that surrounds the old city centre, the preferred activity of thousands of locals during their summer lunch break. The city of Bern has four open-air swimming pools (free entrance). The open-air swimming pools Marzili and Lorraine offer direct access to the Aare River and are a perfect place for a hanging out.

City bike
To explore the beauty of Bern in a sporty and convenient way, you can rent a bicycle at the rent station in the Congress centre or at the three other locations in the city. The first four hours are for free (each additional hour is charged 1 Swiss Franc). Just make a reservation two days in advance, pay the deposit (ID and 20 Swiss Franc) and off you go.
