Content/program

MBSR (mindfulness-based stress reduction) offers mindfulness training for stress reduction based on scientific findings and teaches mindfulness exercises. Studies have shown that specific mindfulness training can help many people achieve better concentration, inner peace, improved (stress) coping strategies and increased well-being.

Course programme – a brief overview

  • The course comprises eight 2.5-hour sessions plus a mindfulness day.
  • The mindfulness day takes place on a Saturday and lasts approximately six hours. It is an intensive day of practice.
  • During the morning sessions, participants share their experiences, reflect on their observations and, above all, practise.
  • The three main exercises are body scan, meditation and yoga. In between, there are short presentations on various topics such as mindfulness in everyday life or stress research.
  • The qualities that the course focuses on and promotes are kindness, compassion, patience and self-care.

MBSR is generally suitable for anyone who suffers from stress or is simply interested in mindfulness. Stress can be understood in a very broad sense – whether it be work stress, relationship stress, deadlines, etc. Mindfulness also offers a more conscious approach to the joys of life. The course is non-denominational and therefore open to everyone.

At the beginning of the course, there is a preliminary discussion in which goals and expectations are discussed together. The discussion serves to get to know each other and to ensure that the course can be beneficial for you in your current life situation.

Prerequisites for attendance

This course does not require any prior knowledge. Anyone interested can participate, regardless of their level of proficiency.

  • Willingness to practise for about 60 minutes every day during the 8-week course.
  • Attendance on the first day of the course is a prerequisite for participation.
  • A mandatory preliminary meeting with the course instructor will take place before the course begins.
