Content/program

Tour planning and implementation of tours under professional guidance. - Route planning with route planning form - Map / orientation - Animals in the wintery mountains, campaign "Respect your limits" - Implementation of the route planning, deciding and creating good tracks. The stated costs cover organisation and instruction. The travel costs, also for cable cars, are at the expense of the participants. Accommodation costs are not included in the price and have to be paid in CASH on site. Please bring cash with you.

Prerequisites for attendance

Prior attendance of the Unisport avalanche course. Basic knowledge of avalanche awareness. Basic knowledge of avalanche transceiver (3-antenna device), probe and shovel, also in practice.

Fitness for short application tours with approx. 800 - 1200 meters ascent and descent and fluent skiing/snowboarding in all types of snow.

Participants must have done at least 2 ski tours beforehand.

Equipment

Backpack with 25-30l pack volume, LVS (3 antenna devices!), shovel, probe, climbing harness with screw-lock carabiner AND long sling (120cm) must be taken with you.

Gloves, hat, windproof, breathable clothing, thermal underwear, light down jacket or similar (layer principle), snacks for 3 days, thermos flask, sunglasses, ski goggles with clear lenses, sunscreen, lipstick, sun hat, earplugs, flashlight, toiletries, blister plasters and personal medication, Headlamp, silk sleeping bag, note paper and writing materials, if possible smartphone with the “White Risk” app. Cabin shoes are available

Skiers: touring ski boots, touring skis, ski poles, skins, crampons.

Snowboarders: snowboard boots, telescopic poles, splitboard (incl. repair kit) or; snowboards; Snowshoes with crampons. We recommend splitboards.

IMPORTANT: SNOWBOARDERS MUST BRING SUITABLE REPAIR MATERIAL/SPARE PARTS FOR THE BINDINGS!

Equipment rental: LVS (CHF 8.00/day), shovel (CHF 3.00/day), probe (CHF 3.00/day), snowshoes (CHF 8.00/day) and sticks (CHF 5.00/day) can be rented from University Sports. > The material is the responsibility of the participants.
