Tango Argentino "Open Role & Dance couples" N3

This course teaches Argentine tango in the traditional way. However, participants can also learn both roles (leading and following) if they wish.

Course objective: This course helps you to deepen and expand your individual technical, communicative and musical ‘tango language’.

Building on your personal experiences from social dancing, we will help you refine and expand your technical, communicative, musical and social elements of tango. By adapting your movements, tempo and energy changes, and active communication within the couple, you will learn to express musicality more subtly. Frequent changes of dance partners are encouraged, as is finding your personal expression in dance. In addition, you will consistently apply and experience the concept of ‘invitation and execution’ (receptive leader & active follower) in your dance partner.

Course content:

• Fluid, varied dancing to tango, tango vals and milonga.
• Express musicality more subtly by adapting movements, changing tempo and energy, and communicating actively with your partner.
• Experience the concept of ‘invitation and execution’ (receptive leader & active follower).
• Advanced figures: calesitas, voleos, sacadas, volcadas and colgadas.
