| Content/program | The tour from Reichenbach to the saddle between the Niesen and the Fromberghore is an ideal introduction to alpine mountain biking. The ascent (1300 vertical meters) is mostly on tarred and gravel roads, which is easy on the body. We have to push the last few meters up to the saddle (Cheesbödi). A fantastic view of Lake Thun and the Simmental awaits us on the saddle. From the saddle to Wimmis there is a descent of almost 1300 vertical meters in one go, 100% on singletrail! The trail first crosses alpine meadows, followed by a somewhat steeper section in the forest and the last part is pure “flow”. Meeting point: 08:39 on the RE to Reichenbach (Lötschberger in the direction of Brig) or at 09:20 in front of the station in Reichenbach. Estimated return in Bern: between 6 and 8 pm. | Prerequisites for attendance | Condition: Fit for a full-day mountain bike tour with approx. 1,400 meters uphill at a leisurely pace. Riding technique: Technical ability to ride moderately difficult trails. |
