Content/program

We will take the step from the climbing crag to multi-pitch climbing on easy routes. Central course topics include: Tour planning and route planning, rope handling in MSL climbing, setting up belays, rope commands and abseiling.

Program:


  • Day 1:

Meeting point on 10.09.2024 at 08:05 am in Ausserberg, VS. Bern departure at 06.39 on track 9.

By cab to Fuxtritt and hut ascent (1.5 hours). 

Refresher course in rock climbing and assessment. 

Introduction to multi-pitch climbing and exercises.

  • Day 2:

Application tour. We make two level-appropriate groups.

Descent to Fuxtritt by 15:00 at the latest. Return to Bern around 18:30. 


Prerequisites for attendance Experience from an indoor climbing course B and a Unisport outdoor climbing day.

Equipment

Everyone takes with them: Climbing harness, climbing shoes, helmet, abseiling set (120cm sling or stand sling, short Prusik, Descender brake/belay device (e.g. Reverso, ATC Guide, Mega or Giga Jul) at least 3 screw-lock carabiners without a wire clip (1 of which is an HMS), 6-7 quickdraws, 1 accessory cord with a diameter of 5mm and approx. 5m long, if possible double or single rope (Please indicate when registering whether you can take a rope with you.)

possibly a small backpack that can be taken on the climbing route

Hiking shoes with good profile rubber soles, clothing for warm and cold as well as dry and wet hours, sun protection, gloves and hat.


Silk sleeping bag, toothbrush, earplugs, small pocket pharmacy with personal medication, bandage and blister plasters,

Snacks for on the go and drinking bottle
